                         PURWOREJO

      History recordes that the fig wood Ara Hiwang found in the village of Boro Wetan.If the converted with calender os gregoriant date 5,october 901.The inscription was found under a tree Sono dusun Boro Tengah,now includes the area Boro Wetan lecamatan Banyuurip and since the year 1890 in the save in museum Jakarta National Inventory

     On the sultanate of mataram until the 19 th century the area is after the duchy of Bagelen in passing its rulers to the duch east Indies to the kesultanan Jogjakarta,this region join us keresidenan kedu a kabupaten.

   The duch built a new settlement who in the name is PURWOREJO as the seat of gevernement with the dutch ehineer design planning altought it stil takes the element of javanise culture.

     However the dutch colonial buildings stil remain lestari to date.like the mosque jami'Purworejo and Regent House.
